In a funky, Warwick, Rhode Island hotel – 40 brothers on staff from all of the New England congregations of the International churches of Christ gathered from May 5-7 to fellowship, play, pray, preach, sing, compete and draw closer to God.

It was just a gathering of around 50 people. It kind of felt like a Wright/Hendrix/Brown family reunion, with a few other folks sprinkled in. But it was way more than that, and only God knows how that Sunday afternoon immersion will change many eternities.

On Friday, April 26, at 70+ years of age – David Gay was baptized into Christ.

David is the father of Julia Jack. He has a doctorate in Chemistry and has taught at the college level. As Julia stated, her dad was a self-made man who was a jogger, strong, 6’2” tall, who knew what he knew and stuck to it with tenacity. But about two years ago, a rare disease struck her father – sending him to the brink of death and putting him in a wheelchair.

That began to change things.

On Sunday, April 21st, the South Region of the Greater Hartford Church of Christ continued our study from the Life of Elisha in II Kings 2:19-25. Though these two stories are not often read, preached or discussed – there has to be a reason why they are in the Bible.
