On Saturday, April 21, a large number of disciples from the Hartford church gathered at the building for an annual spring cleaning extravaganza. At 8:30 AM, they began to congregate. Bagels, donuts, coffee and more enhanced a lively atmosphere of fellowship.
At 9 AM, Dale Thompson called the volunteers to order. He began with a prayer and mapped out the plan for the day. Weeding, moving compost, mowing, washing windows, hauling and cutting wood were a few of the items tackled by a variety of people.
At about noon, the festivities slowed to a halt. All left tired, but also with a sense of accomplishment, from a morning full of service and productivity.
Special thanks goes to Junior Cruz and Peter Rowe who oversee the building and grounds. Jim Fuda works with them as a representative of the elders. This particular day and much of the ongoing outside beautification is run by Dale Thompson and Alison Whitley. We are very grateful for all who made this day special.
