News General New England Staff Meeting in Hartford Focuses on Filling in the Gaps
Every month, the Greater Hartford Church hosts a staff meeting for evangelists, women’s ministry leaders and interns from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
The May meeting was a highlight as nearly 30 disciples gathered.
For this month’s event, Tim Blake was the keynote speaker.  He talked about “the one-armed pushup versus the two-armed one,” with summer campus intern Titus Walelo providing the illustration.  His point was that God wants all parts of the ministry to be strong and function at full strength.  One of the gaps in our New England churches over the past few years has been disciples in the 22 – 30 age range.  Due to a downturn in campus ministry for a few years, this stage in life has fewer in number in our congregations than other areas and perhaps less focus.
The following discussion and brainstorming time led to making plans and dreaming dreams for what God can do in our area of the world in the coming years.
Much good news was also shared and creative ministry plans were mentioned in hopes of helping everyone walk away with inspiration and ideas for their home congregations.
This monthly meeting provides discipling, teaching, fellowship and unity ligaments which encourage us all to persevere no matter what we are going through at the moment.  Our next meeting time and picnic will take place in Worcester on July 12.  Please pray for these staff times and know that they are influencing all of the members of the churches around New England.
