Lessons Inspiration Dream Team Report - April, 2007
We'll just highlight a few of the dream teams this month with what has happened, what will happen and how God is moving in our part of the world.

1. Relationship With God - Will Walter

There was a church-wide day of prayer and fasting prior to Easter.  Lincoln Gifford has provided most of the Sunday inspirational quiet time reading this past month on his series taken from I Corinthians.  The daily devotionals keep coming out via email and a variety of brothers and sisters have contributed the content.  For upcoming months, we are attempting to put Bible Trivia up on the web site, with the help of Mike Klein.

  • 2. Poor and Needy - Ryan Tucker

Bob Oberle recently made a contact with the head of the New Britain Department of Public Works.  They have asked for our help in painting storm drains around town.  Beyond this, our congregation just recently sent our gift package to the church in Romania. Thanks for all who contributed to that.   We previously announced information regarding the Rebuilding Together program.  We are hoping to participate in this in the month of June.

  • 3. In Depth Teaching - Lincoln Gifford

A 3-D group has been established (Disciples Digging Deeper).  On given Monday nights this group meets for a six-week time period to study out different topics of Scripture (similar to what was done with the elders in the past).  A final paper will be composed at the end of the study.  This will repeat itself 4-5 times per year, we hope.

4.  Singles - Jeff Mathew

The two single family groups have Bible Talks - one is downtown and the other at Cavalene's place.  There was a recent movie night at the Mercy Home and Shelter in Hartford with several of the residents.  Upcoming in May will be many opportunities to share our faith, have fun and interact.  Our highlight event is on Friday, May 25, when we will host Tim and Sam Blake from Orlando at a devotional.

5.  Teens - Jimmy Allen

There were two teen men who were baptized in April - Marquis Fisher and Nick Bissonnette.  A recently held Teen Fashion Show was a huge success.  It was planned and organized by the teens themselves.  It raised almost $1000 to help offset the cost of teen camp.  The month ahead has a movie and discussion night plus an evening devoted to "male/female relationships."
